Today we learned a lot in class. In the class we discussed what each Greek word meant and why it was important. We also talked a lot about the Greek philosopher Socrates. Socrates was an important Greek man back then. He created the system "The Socratic Method." This method was basically a way of debating by asking and answering questions to simulate your critical thinking. This method was a very good one and helped out a lot of debates. But because of this method Socrates was accused for the crime of corrupting the young minds of the citizens. He was told to apologize or he would have to take the consequence of the hemlock. Socrates did not want to apologize. He even said they should be sorry and have to give him a life time supply of food. So he was forced to take the hemlock and died on the spot. So we learned Socrates was a very brave man. This is what i was able to learn in class today.

Class about "A Message To Garcia"

Today in class we learned a lot. First we were able to read the story "A Message To Garcia". The story was about a man who had to deliver a message to General Garcia who was lost in the mountains. The man who delivered the message did it with no problem. He also did it without asking an question or having to have a consequence if it was not done. We learned that you should always do what was told without any complaining or asking a million questions. We also learned that even back then people didn't always do what they are asked. They weren't always inspired to do a great job at work. That is why the man who delivered the message was a worthy guy. He was willing to do whatever he had without complaining and still do a good job. That is why you need to be a hard worker and do your job even if you don't get rewarded right away you soon will.

My day at school

This was my first day since I was sick on Freshman Orientation day. That was why I was a little nervous and I didn't know what to expect of this class. Anyway, I was still able to have a fun time in class. We got our new assigned seats in class today. We also went over the rules of class and went over the syllabus. We also learned why you don't want us to use computers for taking notes in class. You said that we don't use computers for note taking because it’s too tempting to go on games or places we aren't supposed to be on it. We also learned that you don't give out extra credit because if you do the work right the first time you won't need the extra points. In the end, like I said I like this class very much and I will have fun.
